Boo and Pence Survive a Night with Dad
Hannah and Riley attended a wedding out of town, so Dad watched the dogs
Hello and happy Friday! Playing a little catch-up today.
Last Friday, Riley and I had to go out of town for one night to attend a wedding.

Boo and Pence are both at our house right now, but we didn’t want to uproot their lives for us to only be gone for 24 hours, so it was a family affair taking care of them during that time. It was also easier for anyone letting them out to do so at our house since we have a fence and no one had to actually touch the dogs to leash them up and take them out.
We left around 8am on Friday. Beth happened to be passing by the exit we live off of around noon and stopped by to let the dogs out. By that time, it was raining and Boo was likely scared, so we had her take the blanket off his crate to make sure he didn’t try to pull the blanket in his crate/shred it/accidentally hurt himself trying to get out.
Around 6pm or so, dad stopped by on his way home from work to let them out again and feed them. He ran home to get some things done at his house and get dinner, then came back a couple hours later to let them out again. Dad said every time he let them out the back door, Boo would run by him at full speed lol.
Pence didn’t seem to care as much and just went in and out and did her business as usual. She hung out on her couch most of the time, and would let dad pet her whenever he would walk in the room. Other than that, they both pretty much ignored him.
Dad ended up staying the night at our house. Pence claimed the bed, as she always does, and he didn’t want to bother her, so he took the recliner. Because it was still raining off and on, he left Boo out of the crate in case he wanted to shelter in the closet.
Around 1am, apparently Boo got hungry and decided to eat lol. Dad hasn’t had a dog in the house for a while, and said Boo’s chomping woke him up. In the morning, dad let the dogs out again and went back home. We got back around noon and the dogs were VERY excited to see us. Boo would not leave my lap for hours.

Here is our funny story for the week…
Boo and Pence can be very smart dogs. But they definitely have their not-so-smart moments.
Last night, Riley was cooking salmon for dinner. The house got a little smoky, so we opened up some windows and opened the sliding back door to where the screen door was the only part closed.
I’m guessing some of you know where this is going lol.
We asked the dogs if they wanted to go on a walk. Immediately, Boo started freaking out, running, and screaming out of excitement. Apparently he though the back door was open and wanted to potty out back before going on the walk. He ran straight into the screen door and bounced back. He yelped like we had purposely done something to him lol. He was completely fine, just scared himself.
Riley opened the screen door to let the dogs outside. Seconds later, Pence thought the door was open still, and she walked right in to the screen and bounced off of it! I was like DOGS ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
Long story short, we now have to get a new screen door lol. Granted, we could’ve used a new one before this happened, but now we definitely do!
We eventually went on our walk at sunset, with some rain moving in right before we made it back to the house.

That’s all for today! Talk to you all soon.
