Boo's Frights and Pence's Gifts

More scary stories with Boo; Pence gets a new bed and new toys!

Hi friends!

As of last night, there have been at least 21 confirmed tornadoes in Indiana from that Wednesday night! FOUR of them were in our county! We were SO LUCKY. Two of the tornadoes were just about five miles away from our house. The damage within a mile of us was from 80mph wind gusts.

The image below is from a house just a few miles away from where we live. Terrible.

Once the severe weather ended, we had multiple days of rain, and ended up with a little over four inches. If you recall, Boo has become more and more afraid of rain. Even if it’s just sprinkling.

Last Friday night, it rained for several hours straight. Boo was freaking out around 8pm and after an hour, it was driving us all crazy. I ended up giving him the last trazodone we had. It did the trick, and he chilled in the closet for a few hours.

Around 3:30am, it had apparently worn off. He was jumping on and off the bed constantly. Trying to get under the bed, pouncing on top of me. I finally took his tags off his collar because the jingling was half of my problem.

He just would not settle down, so Riley took him out to his crate. For the next 20 minutes, Boo proceeded to stomp around and scream bloody murder. I let him out of the crate and let him roam the rest of the house. But clearly, that was not what he wanted.

Although it seemed like he was trying to get out of the bedroom earlier, Boo started HEAD BUTTING the bedroom door, trying to get back in. It wasn’t even raining at that point! I let him back in and he finally went back into the closet and fell asleep. At this point, it was about 5:30am.

I had thought about going down the street in the middle of the night to a friends’ house to get more trazodone, but I was so tired and it was pouring. I figured he had to tire himself out eventually. The next day, we got more trazodone, just in case Boo needed it as the rain continued.

On Sunday, Boo went back to Beth’s house for a few more weeks. She typically has him more in the warmer months, while we have him more in the fall to run and race. It was good to see him though. I miss him when he’s gone.

Speaking of Boo, apparently FIVE YEARS AGO YESTERDAY was when Boo made his first trip to Indiana and meteorology camp!!!! My how times flies! Here is a throwback picture to that day.

In other news, Pence would like to show you her new bed and toys! It was time for a new dog bed….aaaaand Riley may have gone a bit overboard for his girl lol

This dog bed is HUGE. But super comfy. I think she likes it!

Riley also got her a new duck toy with a squeaker! She’s been more interested in some of the balls and fake bones we have laying around, so he thought she might like to try a toy with a squeaker.

He also got her a new beef bone to naw on. Of course, she immediately “buried” them in the couch for “safe keeping”.

That’s all for today!
